Devils in the Wild Tours

Want to get up and close with devils? Well, now you can!

Aussie Ark’s Devils in the Wild tours are available four times a month throughout the year. Devils in the Wild tour is a 2.5 hour fully escorted tour led by one of our Aussie Ark Rangers and starts off with an introduction of the project and the Tasmanian devil over morning tea at our Interpretation centre. The tour then takes you on a journey where you will see some of our Tasmanian devils in our free-range enclosures. You will be privy to enter a huge free-range enclosure and experience a rare opportunity to really get up close and personal in the devil’s natural enclosure to witness a communal feed to encourage wild behaviour. Finally, depending on the time of year you visit, you will even get the chance to hold and interact with our newest devil joeys.

Tour Breakdown

Meet and greet at our interpretive centre where you can enjoy a tea or coffee while learning the history of the Ark, our big conservation milestones and plans for the future as some devils feeding on a carcass in the enclosure below. Walk down through our Species Recovery Unit and learn about the day to day running of the sanctuary. Enter into our Eastern Quoll facility to see them living in the wild natural environments created for them to thrive in. You will then have the opportunity to go into one of our Tasmanian Devil wild enclosures to get up close and witness a communal feeding before going to view our Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby enclosures and Small Macropods (Rufous Bettong, Parma Wallaby, Long-nosed Potoroos and Bandicoots) purpose built facilities.

Finish up your tour with the opportunity to meet and interact with some of our cutest residents… the joeys from our breeding program or joeys needing to be hand raised by our dedicated rangers (Subject to availability, and noting that the best time to see joeys is from September to January).

Finally, you’ll have the chance to pick up some mementoes from our branded merchandise range or adopt an animal of your own (Tasmanian Devil, Koala, Eastern Quoll, Squirrel Glider or Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby) to commemorate your visit , support our work and enjoy some refreshments before hitting the road.

At Aussie Ark, we encourage and facilitate wild behaviours in all of our native animals. Luckily, devils are naturally motivated by food, however, please do understand that our enclosures are incredibly vast and viewing of our other species may not be guaranteed.
