About Curricabark Sanctuary

Safeguarding One of NSW’s Richest Landscapes

Curricabark Sanctuary is a 500 hectare expanse of permanently protected lowland habitat in New South Wales. Rich in diversity, the sanctuary is home to thousands of native animals, from Gliders, Wallabies and Bandicoots to rare Reptiles, Frogs and Woodland Birds.

Under Aussie Ark’s care, Curricabark represents an extraordinary opportunity: to not only protect what remains, but to restore this landscape into a thriving, resilient ecosystem. By investing in its future now, we can ensure that generations of Australian wildlife continue to call Curricabark home.

Why This Sanctuary Matters

Australia’s wildlife crisis is driven by habitat destruction, feral predators, invasive weeds and fire risk. Curricabark is no exception. Though secured under permanent protection, the sanctuary cannot fulfil its potential without active management.

With the right conservation work in place, Curricabark can be transformed into a genuine safe haven, a place where native animals not only survive but thrive. This means removing feral predators such as foxes, cats, pigs and deer, controlling invasive weeds, and implementing long-term fire and habitat management.

Curricabark is more than just land under protection, it is a living landscape that holds the key to restoring balance in New South Wales’ lowland ecosystems. Supporting Curricabark is a chance to protect what remains, reverse decline, and build a brighter, wilder future for generations of Australian species
