Want to see how one of Australia’s largest conservation facilities is operated? Well, this is your chance! Due to popular demand, Aussie Ark is opening its doors to the public again, for a short time only! Over summer – from 1st of January to the 31st of January only – Aussie Ark is welcoming visitors every day.
Visitors to the Ark will have the opportunity to meet and learn about our residents, some of Australia’s most endangered native species. Open hours are from 10.30am – 1pm each day, and your ticket includes a guided tour of the facility, which starts promptly at 11am.
Tour Times & Inclusions
During the ‘Summer Open Days’ only; Aussie Ark is open every day in January 2025 from 10.30am-1pm. You can buy tickets on both our website (recommended) or at the gate.

You can stay in one of our cottages Quoll’s Cottage or Devil’s Retreat! They’re only about 11km from Devil’s Ark.

Aussie Ark and the Barrington Tops can be muddy, dusty and dry during different times of the year. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty, and always check the weather before arrival! Temperatures can range from the high 30’s (c) in summer, to near zero with snow, in winter! At an elevation of 1,350 metres, temperatures differ to those at the base of the mountains, so be sure to keep this in mind before you embark on your journey to visit us!
Our onsite facilities are rudimentary, and our guests are encouraged to come prepared with the following basic essentials:
- Sunscreen and hat
- Suitable outdoor walking clothes and shoes
- First aid kit and personal/medical needs
- Spending money to use if you so choose
Aussie Ark is a wildlife conservation organisation located in a remote location. Our staff will prepare a barbecue daily, and for a small additional cost you can buy sausage/steak sandwiches and cheeseburgers. We also sell a limited range of snacks, like potato chips, muffins, cookies, lolly bags, zooper doopers, bottled water and cans of soft drink.
Complimentary tea and coffee are available on site.
Merchandise is also available onsite and eftpos facilities available. Cash out facilities are not available.
A curated selection of Devil Ark brand merchandise is also available to purchase from our onsite shop.
Payment by cash or card is accepted and Eftpos is available. Please note we do not offer ‘cash out’ facilities at Aussie Ark.
