Australia’s Wildlife Ark, Aussie Ark, is an adaptive and progressive organisation continually seeking to learn from projects as we continue the fight against extinction. Importantly, it is becoming clear that fences are a necessary tool in saving Australia’s flora and fauna. It is critical that as we adapt and apply new management techniques to our sanctuaries. We learn what impact we are having so that our wildlife can benefit long into the future.
Aussie Ark has proudly partnered with the University of NSW for ongoing research projects at Aussie Ark. Since early 2019, our research team has been conducting fauna and vegetation surveys, both within the Aussie Ark sites and externally, to our protected areas. These surveys help us verify what positive impacts are seen with the removal of introduced species and the reintroduction of native wildlife to a protected sanctuary.
All funds contributed by Project Partners to Aussie Ark initiatives are spent directly on conservation initiatives. Likewise, any educational or research grants given to external parties must be exempt from administrative charges and overheads and are spent directly on saving threatened species.
