Onsite Facilities
Aussie Ark is a remote conservation organisation. Onsite facilities are basic and guests are encouraged to be prepared with the following basic essentials:
- Sunscreen and hat
- Suitable walking clothes and shoes
- Individual first aid or medical needs
- Spending money if you so choose
A barbecue will be offered daily for additional cost with sausage/steak sandwiches and simple cheeseburgers including small snacks such as packets of chips, muffins, cookies lolly bags, zooper doopers and bottles of water and soft drink. Complimentary tea and coffee will be available on site. Merchandise is also available onsite and eftpos facilities available. Cash out facilities are not available.
Getting There
Aussie Ark can be accessed via Scone, Mussellbrook and Gloucester. Please allow a minimum of 1.5 -2 hours from any of these locations to arrive at Aussie Ark.

Would you like to see how one of Australia’s largest conservation facilities is operated? Well this is your chance! Due to popular demand, Aussie Ark has decided to open its doors again for a short time only! During the holidays, from January 1st – 31st 2024, Aussie Ark will welcome daily visitors!
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet some of Australia’s most endangered species. Opening hours are from 10.30am – 2pm every single day with tours of the facility running at 11.00am and 12.30pm sharp.
Ticket prices are $42 per adult, $22 per child, $32 per concession, $115 for a family (2A & 2C), $75 for a family (1A & 2C) and $15 for an Extra child to visit Aussie Ark during the school holidays. Tickets will be available at the door or online.
Not only does Aussie Ark hold the largest population of both the endangered Tasmanian Devil and Eastern Quolls in the world, but we are also home to Parma Wallabies, Brush-tailed Rock-wallabies, Rufous Bettongs and Long-nosed Potoroos! Set high in the spectacular NSW Barrington Tops, you can escape to the remoteness of Aussie Ark just for the day! Guaranteed to recharge your batteries and show you how Aussie Ark is fighting extinction of some of Australia’s most loved species!
Opening Hours
Aussie Ark will open daily from January 1st – 31st 2024 from 10.30am-2pm.
You can buy tickets online (preferable) or at the gate.
Tour Times
Guided tours are 1 hour in duration and will be run daily by Aussie Ark Rangers at 11.00am and 12.30pm. Self-guided visits are not available, so guests will be included into the next guided tour after arrival.

Roads to Aussie Ark are unsealed and roads can be steep and winding. Wildlife spotting is fantastic along the drive to Aussie Ark. Extreme care should be taken by drivers at all times and dawn, dusk and night driving in the areas should be avoided. 4WD or AWD is preferred but not essential.
There is limited mobile phone reception after Moonan Flat and Gloucester. If using Google Maps, search for a destination of Corner of Pheasant Creek Road and Tomalla Road, as there are signs from that point to Aussie Ark. We encourage you to print a map prior to leaving or save as an image on your phone whilst still in town.
